1. Punggol Waterway Point
Right as you step out of Waterway Point, you'll be greeted by the fabulous view of Punggol Waterway - It's literally like a quieter version of Clarke Quay š¤Ŗ
To start, simply download the SG Bike app here and unlock an SG Bike at Punggol Waterway Point. Thereafter, put your foot on the pedal and cycle away!
2. Jewel Bridge at Sunset Strip
Cycle down the slope leading towards the park connector and head towards the Western part of the Waterway. You'll be able to locate one of the five iconic bridges at Punggol - The Jewel Bridge. This dome-shaped structure made of steel circular sections is a great pit stop for photos, a short rest, or even just to enjoy the picturesque view š.
Tip: Swing by Jewel Bridge in the evening to enjoy sunset views! š If you're lucky, you might be able to see the structure glisten like a jewel š as the setting sun cast it's last rays of sunlight over it. Perfect for the 'gram!! š·āš¼
3. Punggol Settlement
Feeling peckish? The cluster of restaurants at Punggol settlement surely has something for everyone š . They offer a wide culinary spread, from fresh seafood to local and international cuisines like Thai and Japanese food delicacies. Just WOW! š¢š„£š²
BONUS: If a refreshing ambience with a seafront view is something you look for in a dining location, Punggol settlement is the place for you!
4. Coney Island
From Punggol Settlement, cycle about 500m east along the Punggol Promenade Nature Walk and you'll reach Coney Island Park West entrance. Home to a diverse range of fauna and flora and a wide variety of habitats including mangroves and grasslands, Coney Island is definitely a haven for all nature lovers! š³š²š¼ Try spotting some of the 80 species of birds like the Oriental Magpie-robin or Baya Weavers there!
While there are myriad ways to explore the rustic charms of the island, cycling š might just be the quickest and the most fun way to do so!
Tip: Don't forget to snap an Instagram worthy photo of yourself at the famous Coney Island entrance gate! š· (You can do so either at its East or West gate as they are exactly the same!)
5. Sunrise Bridge
Complementing the waterways along the Punggol waterway park with its wavy structure, the Sunrise bridge is yet another bridge worth visiting š. It was designed to be elevated to offer visitors a great view of the sunrise, Punggol Waterway as well as Serangoon Reservoir. So while you're there, head to the raised platform to snap some interesting pictures from above! šøāØ
Tip: Definitely perfect for early birds to catch the beautiful sun rising above the water every morning! š
6. Lorong Halus Bridge
You can't afford to go to Punggol and not visit this popular hotspot for joggers and cyclists alike! This elegant red bridge, which stretches over the Serangoon River, connects Punggol Promenade to the Lorong Halus Wetland. If you're looking for a quick way to cross from Punggol to Pasir Ris, this might be the way!
Head up the bridge to admire the panoramic scenery and take some good shots of the reservoir on both sides š. Psst. You may even be able to spot some monkeys š hanging around the bridge!
